At Home/Chez Soi Project

At Home/Chez Soi

Michael Krausz was one of the co-principal investigators of the At Home/Chez Soi project in Vancouver, the world’s largest pragmatic, multi-site, randomized controlled trial of Housing First intervention for homeless individuals with mental illness in five Canadian cities between 2009 and 2015. More than 2000 homeless individuals were enrolled across Canada including 497
participants in Vancouver.

The study sought to determine whether Housing First results in better outcomes than treatment as usual for homeless adults with high and moderate needs. The Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) and groups of stakeholders in five cities funded the study.

While this study has now been completed, our group is actively working on publications to share the results of this important study.
