The Annual E-Mental Health Conference was first established in 2011 by Dr. Michael Krausz and his research team at the University of British Columbia. The goal of the E-Mental Health Conference is to highlight the role that new technologies and innovations play in the field of mental health and addictions. Further, this conference provides the opportunity for health care providers, decision makers, researchers, students, and people with lived and living experiences to connect and discuss their ideas and shared interests in the use of online platforms and digital health in mental health and addiction service delivery.
Dr. Krausz has partnered with experts and organizations in the field of E-Mental Health across Canada, including the Mental Health Commission of Canada, the University Health Network, and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health to organize this event and connect individuals across Canada. The conference also provides an opportunity for international learnings, having featured key note speakers from Australia, New Zealand, and Europe in the past. Each year offers a different theme to spotlight aspects of E-Health and diverse populations. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 has presented extraordinary challenges to the field of mental health and addictions and the role of virtual solutions and E-Mental Health are pertinent as ever. The 10th Annual E-Mental Health Conference held on March 3rd and 4th, 2021 focused on the role of E-Mental Health in times of crisis and beyond. Stay tuned for more information regarding the 11th Annual Conference!
